HYDERABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) seized a huge cache of contraband in a raid with the Rangers help in Pathan goth area on Friday.
Additional Collector Omer Shafiq informed that the seized items were worth around Rs 50 million. According to him, the smugglers opened fire on the raiding team and escaped from the area – leaving the items behind. Rangers were then called upon to assist the Customs raiding team he added.
A customs’ personnel identified as Saeed Ahmed suffered a cardiac arrest during the raid and took his last breaths. Officials confirmed that Ahmed did not sustain a gunshot in the crossfire but the sudden heart attack took his life.
