KARACHI: An accountability court on Saturday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former Sindh information minister Sharjeel
Memon in Rs 5 billion corruption cases.
The hearing of the said case was adjourned till January 14 and the court directed that the accused should be produced before the court in the next hearing.
During the case proceedings today, the lawyer of Sharjeel Mem
on apprised the court that his client was unwell and was under
treatment at a hospital.
Moreover, the representative of the National Accountability Bureau requested the court that arrest warrants should be issued for
Memon and alleged that the accused h
ad intentionally not appeared before the court.
The former minister is currently living in Dubai and London for over a year after law enforcement agencies launched a move against politicians and bureaucrats involv
ed in financial corruption.
