LAHORE: A ceremony for the possession of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase-8, which comprises 16,261 kanals land with 8,301 residential and 718 commercial plots, 12 mosques, 35 parks, two sports complex and one cinema, was held here at DHA Sector-W on Thursday.
DHA Administrator Brig Zafar Yasin Babar was the chief guest on the occasion, while DHA Chief Engineer Colonel Muhammad Shahjahan, representatives from NESPAK, NLC, Hassan Associates and many local dignitaries also attended the ceremony.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by a welcome address by the chief engineer.
Addressing the ceremony, DHA Administrator Brig Zafar Yasin Babar said that Phase-8 would be the most modern phase of DHA Lahore. “In this sector there will be two colleges and four schools, a state-of-the-art hospital, markets, clubs, a community centre of international standards, as well as most modern electricity supply system.”
He said well-known consultants; developers and architectural firms of country like NESPAK, NLC, and Hassan Associates were engaged in for different facets of development. “The Phase-8 carries important geographic location in the city and thousands of people will be benefited directly or indirectly,” he said.
Earlier, DHA Chief Engineer Colonel Muhammad Shahjahan briefed the participants about technical details of the project.
