Karachi: All Pa
kistan Oil Tankers Owners Association (APOTOA) has warned that if Sindh government does not withdraw its decision about banning the entrance of o
il tank
ers into Karachi, they will not only suspend the supply of oil all over the country but would also hold sit-in protest in front of Bilawal House.
In a statement, issued on Saturday, APOTOA office bearers said that this was decided during APOTOA’s meeting which was held in Karachi and was presided by Mir Yousuf Shahwani and in another meeting that held in Punjab and was presided by Mir Yousuf Shahwani.
“Chief Minister Sindh had issued orders on Friday that o
il tankers will not be allowed
to enter into Karachi and they would be parked at Zulfikarabad, but that is surprising, we have around 3000 o
il tankers across Pa
kistan and all the oil depots are in Shireen Jinnah Colony where we have get the oil from, tankers have
to enter into the city to reach Shireen Jinnah Colony,” said Shahwani.
He demanded of the Sindh government to withdraw its decision and allow the o
il tankers
to enter into the city. “Otherwise, we will go into a strike and would susp
end oil supply across Pa
kistan,” Shahwani warned. He said that this decision is a conspiracy against the federal government.
He warned that if the decision is not withdrawn in next 72 hours, they will not only go on strike but would also hold a sit-in in front of Bilawal House.
