KARACHI: US Consul General Brian Heath on Monday called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad at the Governor’s House and discussed with him investment opportunities in the provincial capital.
The consul general said that Karachi as a big metropolis has more capacity as compared to other cities. He stated that opportunities for successful investment were available in this city. With the improvement in the law and order here, the interest of the foreign investors was also on the increase, he said.
He said that the American investors should come up with investments in the wake of the positive situation in this metropolis. Dr Ebad said that Karachi being the economic and commercial hub guarantees profitable business. “Karachi is now securing the distinction of a peaceful city,” he said.
In the wake of Zarb-e-Azb operation, there has been a positive change in the law and order and security situation and this was recognized by the world over. The governor said that the industrialists and investors from the US and other developed countries should come up with investments here as this metropolis guarantees profitable business.
He lauded the cooperation extended in the shape of the USAID projects and thanked the people of the United States. He hoped that this cooperation would enhance further as the USAID projects were directly benefitting the poor and the middle class people.
